Arrival on Vancouver Island, heading south to Cobble Hill

OMG!!!  I can't believe we are here.  1230 Fisher Road and this is it.  Not sure about heading in without giving them a call.....Wayne is coming to open the gate.

Look at this incredible yard.  Much time is spent lovingly caring for all these trees and plants.  It is beautiful.  We also found out from Wayne that the gate and fence basically keeps the deer out....because they eat EVERYTHING....lol.

There be wee chickens in the back behind the shed.  Twelve laying hens that graciously provided us with a dozen eggs as a gift.

There is the home of Wayne and Faye.  Such a welcoming and friendly couple.  We are located on the first floor to the left of the garage.  Our private entrance is around the back of the house.

Airbnb is definitely a hit and miss website of homes around the world.  This one would be a huge 'HIT.'  It is beautiful.

Our view out the back door is to a gorgeous bird sanctuary and I cannot tear myself away from it.

So many birds.  This is a Steller's Jay.  If you are thinking it looks like a Blue Jay, you are correct.  The sound it makes, made me believe it was a Blue Jay.  It is related to the Crows, Magpies and Jays.  It quickly becomes used to humans being near.

Our wee path to the back of the house.  With a hummingbird feeder at our kitchen window....they are always here.  The wonderful part of that is we can watch them up close, 6 inches, and they can't see us.  Love it.

Getting into the suet.  These fellows scare all the little birds away....hmmm.

The vegetation here is still being harvested.  One beautiful red apple ripe for the picking.

After a dewy morning....everything has rain drops hanging like jewels.

I sooooo want to eat one of these.  This raspberry plant is right beside the drive way where we park our car.  These are huge too.

At first sight I thought this was a Red Headed Woodpecker.  But right in the front yard on our first morning, I find this Red-Breasted Sapsucker climbing around the tree.  He is part of the woodpecker family.  About 9 inches tall.  He drills holes with that beaker of his for sap.

There he is.....I can see you....But you can't see me.

I really love this bird.  Incredible colours.

Flowers are still in bloom here.

A little mini mall so close to us.  With a Pharmacy, Grocery Store, Dentist, Optician, Spa and Debbie's favourite a second hand book store!!
