Look who came to visit us this morning?
California Quail's? I have never seen one of these exquisite birds.
They reside on the southern part of the island but mostly on the Pacific coast of the US. Not sure how they came to be in the backyard this morning?
They have a fun, black plume on top of their heads.
My little buddy the hummingbird stop on the fence to check out what I was doing.
At least I didn't have red on this morning?
I would guess we had about 30 male and females eating the seeds on the ground under the bird feeders.
They are stocky little creatures with those awesome black plumes.
These are the Walt Disney animated film quails.
The female has less colourful markings on her.....Seems to be the way the bird kingdom rolls. Deb says it so they can be protected better. I got that.
