Well known for it's temperate climate, Vancouver Island seemed like an excellent choice for this winter.
The weather here is influenced by the warm Pacific Ocean that maintains a 50 ' temperature.
Along the coast we do get a respectable amount of rain and mild temperatures that are very much a maritime climate.
Apparently we occasionally get a colder and drier air from the Arctic.
Victoria has the lowest rainfall on the west coast and enjoys the most days of sunshine....because of the mountains that provide protection from the weather.
It is mid-November and these flowering shrubs are still chocked full of pink florets.
I really love the look of the mist covering the mountains near Duncan. You can actually see it moving.
